Our Rainbow action provides patients with relaxation and rest during or after their treatment, a little oxygen, a glimpse of hope and a ray of sunshine to help them continue in their fight against the disease. We offer them a free stay of up to 6 days in a hotel on the Belgian coast, with breakfast and a lump sum for lunch and dinner. Social assistants identify patients who are eligible for this.

The patient can go there together with a person of his choice (wife or spouse, family member or friend). All year round with the exception of July and August, because of the crowds during this period. However, we recommend the months of April, May, June, September and October, which are the most favorable in terms of climate.

LOCATION
In Blankenberge, not far from Zeebrugge, Bruges and the nature reserve Het Zwin, in hotel “Avenue Boutique Hotel” where the staff are very  and involved in our action. The hotel is located in the center of this seaside resort, close to the beach, the harbour, the station and the shopping streets (see internet site: www.avenuehotel.be)

LOCAL ACTIVITIES
During their stay, beneficiaries can perform the following coastal activities: relaxation, beach, walks, bike rides, etc …
Depending on the physical condition of the patients, trips can also be made to Bruges or the Zwin.

MEDICAL CARE
If the patients need care, we can organize the following:
— Administering small treatments such as injections, etc …
— Providing a wheelchair (property of the foundation) in Avenue Boutique Hotel.
— Urgent return to the hospital.

BUDGET
Payment for the stay, including breakfast, is arranged directly by the foundation at the Hotel. For lunch and dinner, an amount of €25 per person and per day (€15 for children under 10 years of age) will be handed over upon arrival at the hotel. The VAT receipts and/or tickets for snacks must be handed over at the time of your departure together with the settlement of the amount awarded.
